This year, due to the global pandemic, we will be hosting the 65th Annual Great Plains Waste Management Conference as a virtual event only. While we will not have the costs of food and beverages typically consumed at the traditional Ice Breaker social and breaks, we still have considerable expenses associated with purchasing of the conference management software (Whova), Zoom licenses and a keynote speaker. To defray a portion of these costs we offer 2 forms of sponsorship this year:

Your company logo will be included in a continuous scroll display of sponsors in the upper corner of the conference platform/app for the duration of the conference (and for months after the conference while registered attendees visit the site to earn more CEUs/PDHs). In addition, you company name and logo will be listed alphabetically on the “Sponsors” page in the conference platform/app.

In addition to the benefits included in the Gold Sponsorship level, your company logo will be displayed on the opening slide(s) while waiting for the keynote presentation to begin and will be verbally recognized by the moderator prior to the keynote speaker introductions.

Meet the Keynote Speaker

Joe Toscano is an award-winning designer, published author, and international keynote speaker. Joe is a native of Omaha and graduated from University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Joe previously consulted for Google in Mountain View, CA. Joe left because he believes the industry misuses data and felt the issues needed to be addressed through innovation rather than strict regulation.

Since leaving, Joe has traveled the world speaking to audiences ranging from 10 people at local events to 15,000-person corporate events, he has written a book, called Automating Humanity, and he has started the Better Ethics and Consumer Outcomes Network (BEACON), all focused on increasing technology literacy, discovering opportunities for purpose-driven innovation, and moving communities forward through purpose-driven innovation.

Outside of BEACON Joe also writes for Forbes, is a member of the World Economic Forum's Steering Committee for Data Protection, and is featured in The Social Dilemma. His work is in the process of being translated into law, putting him in the room with legislators across the United States, including NY State Senate and dozens of Attorney's General who he submitted evidence in the antitrust case against Google.
