Tom is currently the Chief Operations Officer for Electric Pump Inc. out of Des Moines IA.  Tom received his BS Marketing degree from Iowa State University.  As part of a family owned business,  Tom has grown up in the water and wastewater market serving EPI in various roles from Territory sales, Engineering sales, Head of Project Management as well as Sales Management.  Through Tom’s tenure, Electric Pump has grown into an upper Midwest distributor of products and services as well as acquiring firms that has added diversity to the company.  Quality Control Equipment Company (QCEC) manufacturers Wastewater samplers, Pumpcon International (Conway AR) manufacturers Control panels and components for the waste water market place and the most recent acquisition, Starnet Technologies out of Racine WI, which manufacturers unitized control structures as well as SCADA and integration solutions for water and wastewater in the upper Midwest.

Tom is married to wife Deb and tries to keep up with the hectic schedule of 6 children, Patricia, Blake, Madeline, Anna, Gavin and Garrett

David Sykora

Born and raised in Omaha. David attended Creighton Prep and received a Degree in Geography and Environmental Sciences from UNO. David has been with the City of Omaha in Wastewater for 9 yrs and is a Nebraska class IV Wastewater operator. David is currently the Papillion Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant superintendent.

When not at work, Dave enjoys fishing, working on cars, and enjoying time with his wife and 5 children.

Todd is employed by the City of Sidney, and is Superintendent of the WWTF.  He has a LBWA (Learned by walking around) with his 24 years of experience. Todd carries a class 2 Wastewater certification and a grade 3 water certification.  Todd has service as Chair of the NWOD, NWOD delegate to the NWEA board, and a Director at Large on the board, and is currently the chair of the Safety Committee.

When not at work Todd enjoys Deer Hunting, occasionally going goose hunting, and beating the snot out of a little white ball which most people call golf. 

Todd is married to a lovely lady named Robin and has two wonderful kids Jordon and Michael.

George Hunt

Dr. George A. Hunt received his B.S. in Physics with a minor in Mathematics from Miami University (Oxford, OH) and an M.E. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, specializing in environmental engineering, from the University of Virginia. His graduate research focused on hydrodynamic and water quality modeling of coastal waters. 

Dr. Hunt has over 13 years of professional experience in civil engineering both in engineering consulting firms as well as at state and federal agencies including the North Carolina Division of Water Quality and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Most recently, Dr. Hunt was a senior civil engineer at Burns and McDonnell in Omaha, Nebraska. His research and teaching interests are in the areas of surface water hydrology, hydrodynamic and water quality modeling, and watershed management. He is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Iowa.

Mr. Arends is a Plant Manager for the City of Omaha. His 24+ years of experience in wastewater treatment include engineering, permitting, facility optimization, watershed planning, CSO Program development, and plant operations and maintenance management. He is a registered Professional Civil Engineer and a Class IV Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator in Nebraska. He is a past President, Secretary, and Executive Board member of the NWEA and has been awarded the William D. Hatfield Award and the Arthur Sidney Bedell Award. Mike and his wife Lori have five sons, John, Tyler, Zachary, Zachary, and Joshua.

Britany Travers

Brittany joined Engineered Equipment Solutions (EES) in early 2011 and is the Regional Manager of the Nebraska territory.  EES is a manufacturer’s representative company focusing on water and wastewater process equipment. Prior to that, she worked for 2 years at a rep firm in another territory.  Brittany earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University.  Brittany grew up in Columbus, NE and currently lives in Omaha with her husband, Matt, and sons, Hudson and Sullivan.

Amit Shrivastava

Amit is Project Manager at HDR with 17 years of experience in environmental engineering projects, including water treatment, permitting, wastewater treatment, facility planning, program management and construction management. Amit is registered profressional engineer in NE and SD. Amit received his Master of Science Environmental Engineering degree from University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 2001 and Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree from Osmania University, India in 1999. Amit was chair of the Great Plains Conference from 2016 to 2018. When not at work, he enjoys golfing and spending time with his wife Shubhra and twin boys Ari and Veer.

Mr. Billesbach is the Environmental Engineering Department Manager at JEO Consulting Group. Lucas received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2005 and his Master’s in Business Administration from Creighton University in 2010. Lucas is a registered Professional Civil Engineer in Nebraska and Iowa and has a wide range of experience in water, wastewater, and stormwater projects. Lucas was Chair of the Great Plains Conference from 2013 to 2015. Lucas is married to his wife Sarah and has 3 children; Quentin, Lucille, and Evita.

POSITION OPENING: Sewer Maintenance Technician

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Class I Waste Water Collection certification from the State of SD Board of Operator Certification after 18 months of employment.   Must have or obtain a Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement within 90 days of hire. Knowledge of the operation of waste water and storm water collection systems and maintenance of related equipment would be beneficial.

ESSENTIAL FUNTIONS: Provides services in the water and wastewater departments by repairing and maintaining sanitary and storm sewer mains. Operates a seal and reveal truck to inspect sewer lines and grout cracks and a CCTV van including computer applications, to clear sewer lines and lift stations.  Performs smoke testing, bypass pumping and flow monitoring

SALARY: $16.77 minimum plus comprehensive benefit package
