2017 Sidney Groundwater Festival

The Public Education committee is looking for volunteers to help with the Western Nebraska Children’s Groundwater Festival on Friday April 28th in Sidney, NE. The festival is held at the Cheyenne County Community Center and the Lodgepole Valley Youth Camp. We will be presenting the Wastewater Jeopardy game to approximately 150 4th and 5th grade students. The 2017 WEF Collection Systems (WEFCS) Conference will be held in Omaha on May 21-24, 2017. The conference is being hosted by the City of Omaha and the Nebraska Water Environment Association (NWEA).  WEFCS is held annually and includes a wide range of collection systems issues (trenchless new construction, odors, CSOs/SSOs, integrated planning, modeling, asset management, sewer assessment and rehabilitation, State-of-the-art technologies, regulatory updates, and more).

In addition to the conference, there will be two workshops on Sunday as noted below and also tours of Omaha’s collection system facilities and green infrastructure projects that are in construction or recently placed into operation.

Workshop B: Managing Uncertainty: Program Management Concepts for Inflow/Infiltration Control Programs

Facility Tour A:  Pump Stations and CSO Treatment - Tuesday, May 23rd
